Last updated: 2026-04-29
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of BookSlash. By using the service you agree to these Terms. If you are using BookSlash on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
1. Account & eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use BookSlash. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to use BookSlash to:
- Send spam, phishing pages, or malware via redirect slugs.
- Host or distribute content that is illegal, harassing, or infringes third-party rights.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service.
- Bypass any rate limits, quotas, or technical restrictions, or interfere with other customers' use of the service.
- Resell or sublicense the service without our prior written consent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice depending on severity.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of content you upload to BookSlash (“Customer Content”). You grant BookSlash a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, transmit, and display Customer Content solely as necessary to provide the service to you.
You are solely responsible for Customer Content and represent that you have the rights necessary to upload it.
4. Fees & billing
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, in US dollars.
- Fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as described in our Refund Policy.
- Sales tax, VAT, and similar taxes are added where applicable based on your billing address.
- We may change list pricing on 30 days' notice; existing prepaid terms are honored through the end of the current billing period.
5. Intellectual property
BookSlash and its underlying technology, design, and trademarks are owned by BookSlash, Inc. We grant you a limited, non-transferable license to use the service during the term of your subscription. We welcome feedback; any feedback you provide is owned by BookSlash without obligation to you.
6. Privacy & data protection
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. For customers subject to GDPR or equivalent regimes, our Data Processing Agreement is available on request via [email protected].
7. Warranty disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Where Service Level Agreements are offered as part of an Enterprise order form, those SLA terms apply in place of this section to the extent of any conflict.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BookSlash's aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages.
9. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify BookSlash against third-party claims arising from your Customer Content, your use of the service in violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law.
10. Termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing settings. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms with reasonable notice when feasible. Upon termination, we will delete your Customer Content within 30 days unless retention is required by law.
11. Governing law & venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of laws. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced via email or in-product notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the change date constitutes acceptance.
